Islam Gymkhana came into existence in 1890, Lord Harris, the then Governor allotted the Islam Gymkhana grounds on the Kennedy Sea Face which is popularly known as Marine Drive and now Netaji Subhas Road.
The Annual Inter-Gymkhana Cricket fixtures were known as "Triangular" which was played by Bombay Gymkhana, Parsi Gymkhana and Hindu Gymkhana. In 1912 Islam Gymkhana came on the sceno to make this tournament "Quadrangular" which was recognized as the premier annual cricket event in maia and was enjoying the same status as the Test Match of today, In 1937 the Catholic Gymkhana joined, which was known as the "Rest" and then this tournament became "Pentangular.
Islam Gymkhana was founded under the Presidentship of the Honourable Mr. Kazi Shahabuddin C.I.E. The original Pavilion of Islam Gymkhana was designed by Mr. Ibrahim Ahmedi a leading architect n those days who also designed the beautiful Anjuman-l-Islam High School at Bombay. The existing Favillon was designed by the famous architect of our country Mr. L.M.Kadri which has been a landmark on Marine Drive.

I hav gone here many times fr funtions n exhibitions etc its spacey thats what i like abt it and washrooms r clean the food now is so good here,also it is renovatedby mr yusuf abrahani the president of gymkhana they have gym also a spa fr ladies and much more luxuries,bay view it is a very good open lawn fr weddings.they also make members here.love ths place.
A very superb place for family get together, wedding functions, parties and for football and cricket play ground, they have AC Banquet Hall aswell. A very nice place for all 👍👍👍👍👍

Islam Gymkhana has lost its class. It's downright shoddy club with poor hygiene and filthy environment. Food sucks and the restrooms stink. Extremely dissatisfied 😔
It is a place where you can play cricket and there are weddings also done and on the opposite side you have a nice view of sea
Good small nice cosy place for reception function. Capacity of roughly 150-200 people. Just outside the marine lines train station so good connectivity.

A very well maintained place It has a gym, a large cricket field and there is a section for kids as well, the place are also held as a venue for various events, celebrations, banquets, business meetings etc.
